My fellow veteran's,
I was advised by a fellow hepper that I should post the info. that
follows, as it my be of great use to any vet that was honorably
discharged from the U.S.Military with at least 2 years active duty
under their belt. If you wish to apply for the Veterans
Administration benifits that your service makes you entitled to. Have
your financial records handy when you go online to apply. Make sure
you find the VA medical center nearest your home. Thats where you
want to make sure the application goes to.I have been receiving
medical care from the VA since 1987. I am starting tx for treatment
on my HCV today 2/15/02. This is free to me through the VA. Depending
on your financial status, you may be required to pay a minimal co-
pay. If you are found to be a service connected vet (i.e.injured in
combat, etc...) You should have no co-pay. The VA offers all types of
medical care. They do have a different protocol for treatment of HBV
& HCV. Then the doctors in the communities you live in. You can only
find out if you apply as to what you qualify for. Even if you served
during peace time there is all kinds of medical benifits available to
you. This first link is the VA Home Page: http://www.va.gov This
second link is the VA Site for HCV: http://www.va.gov/hepatitisc
Apply online at the home page by following the links once you bring
up the homepage. Spouses and Depentants of vets who were killed in
line of duty or who suffered dibilitating injuries may also qualify
for special programs through the VA or other organizations. The VA
will help to point you in the right direction.
God Bless You All,
