Hello Lyn, Nels, & other Group Members:

I have now had an opportunity to review most of the posts submitted
to this forum, and to consider Nels suggestion that I offer a
special discount on the Basic Treatment CD. I took note that Diane
and Nels experiences with AFT formulas and the Basic Treatment CD
are not atypical from that of others. I thank both Nels and Diane
for their candor. I have learned that it is naive to view people
within the energy healing community as being fundamentally different
than others: both disdain for something new and different, and pride
in currently used techniques are common. Unfortunately these traits
are divisive, lead to competition, and are difficult barriers to
overcome. I encounter the same attitudes in the medical community
all of the time. If you have doubts, read Eric Hoffers' "The True
Believer – Thoughts on the Nature of Mass Movements". However these
traits, and the energy behind them, are simply part of the human
condition, and the last time I checked those in the energy healing
community are still quite human. At least I have not found any yet
who walk on water.

I do not seek "true believers" or AFT "groupies". I am not a
promoter, nor a businessman. I do not offer loss leaders. You
misperceive my motives, i.e., project your own beliefs, if you think
that I operate within that context. I developed the CD technology 4
years before I made CDs available on the internet. I offer the CDs
strictly as a convenience. I still advise AFT users to use the
tapping methodology in preference to using the CDs because the
tapping method works and is free. I have never refused a request for
a formula, and cannot imagine doing so. From my perspective, tapping
ensures commitment, and self reliance. Tapping another is one of the
most loving things that can be done; it is like praying with and for
someone. Remember that my goal is to awaken people to their own
power, both to harm and help themselves: we are the source of our
success or distress. The CDs are used by many like a medical
prescription, a model which I find seriously flawed since the
healing is "done" by someone else, and the patient is a passive
recipient who carries little or no responsibility for their own well-
being; CDs are too easy.

I ask no one to believe anything other than what can be experienced
as personally true. My instructions are designed to allow users to
gain the maximum benefit from AFT with no training. Take note of the
results that others have achieved using a system that in theory and
practice is quite different than common energy systems such as EFT.
Yes, AFT bears similarities to TFT in that fixed sequences are used,
at least when dealing with physical issues and some psychological
energy fields as well. And it is similar to EFT and its "cousins"
because meridian tapping is involved. Take note that AFT is not
listed by on the EFT site as one of EFT's "cousin's". This is not
likely an oversight since Gary has been aware of AFT since 1999. I
agree with Callahan that the energies in our body are patterned. The
universe and all manifest things are the result of patterns of
energy: energy holding energy together. Everything is made of the
same elementary energetic particles arranged in different patterns.
It seems imprudent to me to think that ALL THAT IS would change the
rules of the games when it comes to humans; there are so many
examples in which "that which works" is used again and again in
nature, like nerve cells and eyeballs. My animal research indicates
that the same formulas that work on people work even better on
animals (nearly 100%) than they do with humans, although animals do
not have a God view. In animal populations there is no placebo
effect. Something either works or it does not; the pigs and
chickens I have studied did not even have any awareness that they
were subjected to the energies involved. The fact that specific
sequences of meridian stimulations works on animal disorders is
pretty convincing evidence that the formula sequences are on target,
and that underlying disorders treated are patterned energetic
disruptions. If you do not use the right meridian stimulation
sequence, you do not get the result you seek. If the underlying
energetic disturbance was not patterned, random meridian point
tapping or stimulation would be as good as any sequence. My research
indicates that the formulas work better on animals because animals
do not think as humans do; animals are more of a simple Stimulus-
Response machine than people. Animals do not attribute motives to
events, which is a GV activity.

As for the AFT instruction Manual, it is important to realize that
most who use AFT are first timers in the energy healing world. You
are not alone in your reaction to the instructions: many
people "push against" fixed rules, as if it is an affront to their
own creativity. [In actuality this pushing against is most often a
form of oppositional defiance, (LoC75GV or LoC175E>>LoC150LV); ODD
is also the primary cause for procrastination. Fortunately, it can
be easily dealt with the formula on the internet and a little muscle
testing. Without muscle testing oppositional defiance can be dealt
with on an issue by issue basis: focus on the "irked", or upset
feeling that arises when procrastination occurs. it is often
described as a "bored feeling", or an "I don't want to feeling".
While focusing on the thing, and your upset you are procrastinating
over doing have someone tap the oppositional defiance formula on
you, preceded by the LoC 100, LV formula. See what happens.
Clearing procrastination as a trait requires using muscle testing to
ascertain when the energy field was initiated, mentally going back
to the event (the process is the same with PTSD, just the feelings
are different) and tapping the ODD formula. ODD is likely the
result of some childhood event(s) in which we (through scorn or
disdain) perceive that some one (thing) is unfairly aggressing on
us. It is a form of "passive" aggression where outright aggression
is perceived as not possible. PTSD, in contrast arises when an
individual perceives that they (or someone they love or are
dependent upon) are in imminent danger of being seriously injured or
killed. Please pardon the digression, I got carried away!] Until
recently, it seems EFT devotees have been so busy testing EFT's
limits, on everything that moves, or even twitches, to bother with
AFT.

The AFT instructions actually do work pretty well as written, and
the more closely they are followed, the more likely that the user
will achieve positive results, which is my sole goal. I do not want
to limit users, merely to save them time, wasted effort, and
maximize their chance for success. I realize that the instructions
are very specific. Specific disorders have specific energetic
patterns that need to be addressed. As specific as my instructions
are, most of the questions that I encounter are requests for even
more specific instructions. Remember, the most prevalent LoC in the
US, and I believe the world, is the 100 level: fear. People worry
about making mistakes, about doing it "wrong". Fortunately, AFT is
a very forgiving technique, and if you miss tap you can not hurt
yourself, and will only reduce the effectiveness of the formula, not
lose all of your effort, unless you totally miss or skip a point.
The energies underlying disease/disorders are specific patterns.

My research indicates that EFT and other less specific tapping
methods work, and they do work very well especially for emotional
upsets, via introducing randomness into patterned energy
perturbations, creating a different energetic harmonic. It is
somewhat like taking a pile of pickup sticks and tossing them up
into the air. The pile will likely settle down in a different
pattern, one that is often less coherent and frequently results in
symptom relief. It can also be viewed as adding random notes into a
musical composition. Ass enough random notes an the tune will
become unrecognizable. I also see that techniques like EFT require
significant clinical acumen to be really effective, and that people
often "chase" problems for quite some time before they get what they
are after. I agree that learning NLP is wise if one is going to use
EFT to its full potential. Unfortunately the energetic patterns
underlying emotional and physical problems have a self coherence and
are self perpetuating, which is why our problems tend to be so
resistant to change. If the root source, or most basic underlying
pattern is not addressed, the disorder or problem will, across time,
regenerate itself. This is where Kinesiology can be so valuable in
isolating where the energetic pattern originate that is the
initiating source of the problem. Since the root source for all
disease is in consciousness, that must be addressed or the same or
some other disorder within the same LoC domain will (re)appear.
Until you shift your LoC, you are going to simply pick different
apples from the same basket.

Turning to another of your points, there are scientific reasons why
it is impossible to achieve 100% success with all individuals, using
AFT or any other energy healing method. Understanding why this is
true is something I cover extensively when training AFT
practitioners, however I will briefly address the issue here.
Psychological research indicates that roughly 20% of all individual
in the world have personalities that are "wired" differently than
the rest. In the vast majority of people, the personality is geared
toward the task of problem solving. This process of interpersonal
problem solving involves self evaluation, and self reflection, i.e.,
asking what am I doing or how am I contributing to the problem that
I am confronting. In other words, in the "normal" personality the
self is part of the overall equation. In the 20% who are "wired"
differently, the self is not in the equation. In this group, the
personality is geared not toward problem solving, but rather self
survival, and "being right"; problems are viewed are the result of
other people or forces outside the individual. Psychologically
these individual are labeled as having a "personality disorder",
they are not "mentally ill", just "wired differently". Since they do
not, at the most fundamental level, see or take any responsibility
for the problems in their lives, these individuals do not change.
Even if they appear to comply with therapeutic instructions, deep
inside they know that they are right, and everyone else has "missed
the boat". Psychologists have found that this perceptual pattern
does not change. You can work on specific issues with these
individuals with success, but you cannot achieve a permanent shift
that will stop similar issues from arising in the future. Problems
merely shift focus. These patients are often professionally referred
with an apology, and are likely to be seen by professionals
as "difficult" to deal with since they ultimately do not listen to
reason, and almost always flip between being a "victim" being
a "persecutor" Personality disorders are found in sociopaths,
borderlines, dependent personalities, paranoid personalities, and
drug addicts among others. While it is sometimes possible to get
these individuals to react and respond differently out of self
interest, the basic personality core remains unchanged.

I vividly remember a 3 year old boy who blamed everything that
happened to him on things outside himself. His mother is an active
addict, and his grandmother who raises him has a dependent
personality disorder. If the boy would trip and fall, or bang
against a wall and hurt himself, he would yell at the wall, floor,
or ground, and call it names, and blame it. Never was HE responsible
for anything that he did. If he poked a hole in a screen with a
pencil, the pencil did it, not him. Anything that happened that he
did not like was the fault of something outside of him. No matter
how many times it was pointed out to him that the floor or wall did
not move, his response was the same: the thing that hurt him of
frustrated him was wrong and at fault. The child is much older now,
but his reactive pattern is unchanged. He has trouble is school and
interpersonal relationships that are only likely to get worse across
time.

There appears to be evidence of a "genetic predisposition" toward
personality disorders, however since values, beliefs, attitudes and
energetic patterns are passed along in families in addition to
genes, this point is open to discussion. We have found that with
adolescent borderline personality disorders parents often purchase
the "Borderline CD", put it in their closet with their child's
awareness, and play the CD 24/7. They report great success as long
as they play the CD. There are clearly times when the CDs are
preferable to tapping, especially if the person involved is
resistant to change, unable to tap for themselves, or consider AFT
too "Woo-Woo".

My advice to all is simple: if after you learn and try it you find
that AFT is of no value for you or your clients, dust your shoes
off, and move on. Try something else; anything else, there is always
a chance for success to some degree, even a placebo effect is better
than none.

I saw in one of your emails to Nels, a comment that you do not
believe that thoughts are important unless they are energized by
emotionality. This is a most curious comment that I believe
basically denies what mystics have said across the millennia, and
was definitively proven wrong from a scientific perspective over 70
years ago. More recent research during the last decade confirms what
was found in the past. Your view is similar to Jimmy Carters
statement that having lustful thoughts is ok, only acting them out
is wrong or harmful. Somewhere Jimmy missed Jesus' statement that
the thought is as bad as the deed. It is a common fundamental error
in understanding the nature of thought and energetics, so I will
attempt to put the problem in perspective.

I invite you and other readers to examine the Russian A.R.
Luria's "The Nature of Human Conflicts: An Objective Study of
Disorganization and Control of Human Behavior", Liveright
Publishers. New York, 1932. Luria was a contemporary of Pavlov and
Freud. The book and studies behind it span decades of research that
fortunately could not be replicated in today's social climate,
although the data gathered are invaluable. In simple synopsis, Dr.
Luria hypnotically implanted in experimental subjects the belief
that they had committed a heinous crime, and then induced a complete
hypnotic amnesia for the belief. Consciously subjects had no
awareness of the event. Never-the-less, electrophysiological studies
of the subjects responses to words related to supposed heinous crime
clearly demonstrated that its impact persisted, and created
instability in the nervous system that eventually lead to emotional
and behaviorally observable disruptions of all sorts. Neurotic
conflicts of all sorts arose which became worse across time. When
the belief was hypnotically removed, as it was installed, the
neurological disruptions, and mental and physical afflictions
gradually calmed and the subjects returned to the state of health
and response they demonstrated before the experiment began. Clearly
these individuals had no conscious awareness of the event, and no
conscious emotionality associated with the thought that had been
hypnotically implanted in their mind. Never the less, the thought
had a devastating impact on their psyche and physical being. Recent
research is even more compelling.

The work of M. Emoto (http://www.wellnessgoods.com/messages.asp)
demonstrates graphically the impact that thoughts, words, and ideas
have in the physical universe. I invite you and other readers to see
for their own eyes the impact that thoughts, words, and music,
disembodied from emotion and intent, have on water. Water is
particularly malleable and comprises 70% or more of our bodies.
Don't take my word for it; see for yourself the physical evidence.
One would normally think that music only invokes a response within a
sentient listener, however as one can see, the impact is a
fundamental aspect of the energetics of physical reality. Critics
of popular music, including heavy metal and rap music are right:
these artistic forms are harmful to listeners. Every thought one
thinks, every idea that one reads, hears, or encounters leaves its
energetic signature in our being. Every thought and every action has
its energetic impact, whether or not we are aware of it. Even if we
reject an idea, simply coming in contact with it has its impact,
raising or lowering our consciousness. Awareness and acceptance are,
in other words, optional. Propaganda works, not because it convinces
people, but because through repetition it influences our energetic
being. There are no exceptions. Rejection of the obvious
implications of the research I have cited is merely a justification
of our own positionality. As the Course in Miracles says, if you
knew what even a single fearful thought had on your physical being
you would never allow yourself to do it again. In the Course, any
thought other than a loving thought is viewed as a thought emanating
from fear, and supporting our separation from God and one another.
Our ignorance of the truth is no barrier to, nor protection from,
the unseen energetic forces that control our lives and well being.
Unfortunately, our ability to consciously discern truth from non-
truth is quite limited, which is why kinesiologic testing is so
valuable. Why some are unable to use this technique successfully is
covered quite adequately be Dr. Hawkins and will not be covered in
message. Sadly, most people accept and "resonate" with that which
they believe to be true and that which supports their own ego
agenda, their truth is entirely subjective.

One final note while on this topic: the Nobel Prize winning (2002)
research of Eric Kandel, MD, PhD is particularly relevant. Kandel's
work definitively demonstrated to the scientific world that the
formation of and activation of memories initiates a biochemical
process that ultimately turns genes on an off. What you read, think,
or experience leaves memory traces, whether or not we are aware of
it. It is simply what brains do. The meaning Kandel's work cannot
be ignored: genes are the effecter mechanisms of consciousness
itself. Like it or not, our bodies are a "slow mirror of the mind"
and the energetic influences that we allow in our lives are of
paramount importance to our well-being. Thoughts arise from and
reflect our attitudes, values, and beliefs. Thoughts arise within
the energetic context of a particular LoC. I refer readers to my
article, published on the Tree of Life web site titled "Personal
reality and consciousness" (http://www.the-tree-of-life.com/LoC-
defs.htm). The LoC of an individual actually limits the type of
thoughts that will spontaneously arise in that individual, limits
the range of perception, and draws to that person events that are
consistent with the individuals values, beliefs, etc. One's LoC has
nothing to do with intelligence; however they are related to the
breadth of an individual's perspective, to their "wisdom".

As to Nels suggestion that I lower the price on the Basic Treatment
CDs, it is something that I have considered for some time. I do
market CDs, all of them, at a significant discount to AFT students,
both in the US and abroad, who resell the CDs to their own clients.
I see it as a way that students can recoup the cost of the training.
I also work with dealers who are contractually required to buy CDs
in bulk quantities, typically 20, 50, or 100 at a time, with
discounts related to quantity, and yearly sales quotas. Creating a
fair and balanced policy that covers the entire world is quite an
undertaking, since reliable cost of living statistics are difficult
to obtain and currencies fluctuate. Further, a Mercedes, BMW, IBM
computer, or a toaster made in the US is not reduced in price when
it crosses a border; they simply cost what they cost. I am aware
that everyone wants a bargain and that the value of that which has
already been offered for free is often dismissed as an irrelevant
inducement. This perception arises from the same context that causes
back pains (LoC 75, "While you pretend to be good, you are really
dishonorable, and due to your hidden agenda will take advantage of
me, cheat me, fail to deliver etc."). Freely giving also allows a
perceptual a climate in which individuals tend to believe that it is
their right to have everything provided to them free (LoC 125, "You
are denying me what I deserve, what is my right and everyone's'
right!"). Many others believe that if it is free a product it is of
no value LoC 175, "The best SHOULD a lot"). Such is life; that adage
that you can't please all of the people is quite true.

At the current price of $150/CD, Accutone CDs cost the purchaser
$0.41 cents USD per day on an annualized basis. Considering what
they do, this is quite a bargain, much less than a pack of
cigarettes or even a cup of coffee. Have you checked on the cost of
prescription medicine lately? Even in China, where the minimum wage
is roughly $0.31USD per hour, the CDs are a bargain considering what
they do. I have sold CDs on every continent at the current
$150.00USD rate, and the complaints raised in this group about CD
prices are the first that I have encountered. I do offer a lifetime
replacement/upgrade policy for $25/00. How would you like to have
that policy on you automobile or toaster?

I hope, at some time, to reduce the price on the CDs, but at the
moment I can find no easy and equitable solution as the CDs are a
completely unique commodity that took years to develop and perfect.
I have priced them at the rough equivalent of a single physician's
visit in the US, and have tested on this value through kinesiology;
however in many parts of the world this is irrelevant since many
countries have government supplied health care. I am in the process
of writing a book on the AFT and hope to include the Basic Treatment
CD and an antenna, however this process will take some time, and in
the interim, I have no solution to your suggestion that is fair to
me, my students and dealers, and those who want to purchase CDs less
expensively. Remember, the CDs are a luxury; tapping formulas that
work quite well are already free. I am open to suggestions, and
would like to see what you propose; however I can make no promise
that I will change the price as a result of your suggestions. You
must realize that if I lower the price on one CD I will be
criticized for not lowering the price on all CDs. After they are
mastered it costs no more to create one CD than another.

Finally, I see from the growing number of posting on this sight that
my limited time will not allow me to respond to all information
requests and still keep up with the multitude of requests that flow
to me from the AFT site. If there are specific questions that
require my input, I would appreciate it if someone would summarize
the questions, and submit them to me as a block.

Again, I apologize for my long winded comments. There is so much to
say and learn!

Kurt Ebert.
