Hi Veronica and Janet,
Really nice to hear from you. How are things going?
I can see both sides of the coin. I encourage others to be proactive
and take responsibility for their own health and life in general.
Yet the medical system seems to encourage passivity and blind
acceptance almost to the point of creating a codependent culture.
Like, just do what you're told and don't ask questions. I know Dr.
Ebert does NOT support that idea!
I had to go in for a fairly major operation once (Kidney donation)
and I listened to a book on tape by Bernie Segal entitled "How To Be
An Excellent Patient." and it advised that you question everything
until you are satisfied in what is taking place. Well! That made me
about as popular as a skunk at a garden party I tell you. Most
health care workers get really defensive when you ask questions or
offer an opinion of your own. Some, who are serious about their
work, welcome proactivity because they know proactive people tend to
recover quicker.
Therefor, for some individuals the decision to purchase a CD to help
themselves may be the most proactive decision they have ever made
and entails a bit of a leap of faith to boot!
Dr Ebert has mentioned that he may consider writing a manual or home
study course of some kind and would include the Basic Treatment CD
in the package. I think that would really be a big boost for me to
recommend to everyone to help get them started. The CD already comes
with a 22 page manual that has a lot of good stuff in it!
So I guess I will patiently wait for something to happen, or hope a
training course shows up that I can get too. The last two at Lake
Geneva just came at the worst possible time for me and on too short
of notice. It is a major investment for me as I am self employed. I
need lots of advance warning to make room for it.
Sincerely, Nels
