I personally found the supplements recommended by Dr. Charles Gant in his book "End Your Addiction Now" valuable along with AFT for quitting smoking. www.nutrenergy.com is a source for the supplements. It is less expensive to purchase their prepared packs rather than purchase separately from health food stores in my experience. Since the supplements are all in cellophane packs, they are more convenient than opening 10 bottles.

I agree that there is a strong connection of the smoker to the act of smoking. More than that, the smoker identifies himself as a smoker. "K-testing" will always demonstrate that it is necessary to let go of this self identification as a "smoker". This is one of the blocks that we identify in our belief change process. Until it is changed, letting go of smoking can be as hard as letting go of one's identification as a"good" or "bad" person.
