NATA Think Tank - Educator (instructions)   Message List

As indicated last week, this AT Education listserv will be moving to the new NATA Think Tank on Monday, September 15.  Pleas follow the instructions below to get to this new location.  I look forward to your continued support and participation.  Thank you.

1. NATA member can go to log into the Members section:  http://www.nata.org/members1/members.cfm
2. Click on the Think Tank link on the left column or go to: http://forum.nata.org/thinktanks
3. Scroll down and click on Educator
     http://forum.nata.org/thinktanks/forumdisplay.php?f=54
4.  Here you can do several thing.  First, I suggest you read and practice the User Guidelines.  This is a moderated forum that will follow these guidelines and other netiquette rules regarding emails and listservs.
5.  To join or Subscribe to the Educator forum,
   a. Go down to the middle of the page: Threads in Forum - Educator and click on the Forum Tools link.
   b. Click on Subscribe to this Forum and select whether you want to receive daily or weekly emails.
7.  To post a New Thread or topic,
   a. Click on New Thread button on the left side or click on the Forum Tools - Post a New Thread.
   b. Enter a short but accurate Title to a new thread.  Then enter the message for the new thread.  Please use correct professional terms and other netiquette guidelines in your message (thread). 
   c. You can also add weblinks inside the message by clicking on the World icon under the smile face.  There are other things you can add by clicking on the other icons.
   d. You can add your Signature to the thread by checking the box under Additional Options.  Instructions for creating or editing your personal signature are provided below.  All threads must include your name and contact information (or signature) - this is netiquette.
   e. You can Attach Files by clicking on the Manage Attachments button.
   f. After your finished, click on Submit New Thread or Preview Post button.
8.  To view a thread in Educator, click on the link to the listing from Threads in Forum - Educator.
   a. You can view all of the treads posted from the original (top) down to the most current reply (bottom of the page).
   b. To reply: click on Post Reply button and follow the instructions above in the New Thread posting.
9.  To add a personal Signature to your thread postings,
   a. Click on the Quick Links button on the top right (next to Log Out).
   b. Click on the Edit Signature.
   c. Here you can add and preview your personal or professional signature. 
   d.  Minimum requirements in signature (for netiquette): full name (and credentials if applicable), title, business or school affiliation, and contact information (phone and/or email).
10.  To add Resources,
   a. Click on the Resources: Find & Share... link inside the Sub-Forums - Educator.
   b. Click on New Thread
   c.  Add appropriate and brief Title (use netiquette rules).
   d. Enter brief message to describe resources. 
    e. If it is a website link, don't write a message.  Just click on the World icon under smile face and enter website address.
   f. Do not include a signature to resources unless you want to show your ownership to the resource.
   g.  To add attachments, click on the Manage Attachments and follow instructions.
   h. When completed, click on Submit New Thread or Preview Post button.
11.  To add Announcements,
   a. Click on the Announcements: Breaking News link in the Sub-Forums - Educator box.
   b. Click on New Thread.
   c. Enter Title.
   d. Enter Message and website link, etc.
   e. Enter Signature (optional).
   f. Attach files (if applicable).
   g. Click on Submit New Thread or Preview.
