I was thinking of creating a point system for our students, whereby
students would earn points for doing the things we ask of them, and
more importantly for going above and beyond the basics. For example,
they would earn points for membership in different organizations
(NATA, SWATA, TSATA, etc), for attending workshops, for volunteering,
for earning exceptional GPAs, for applying for scholarships, for
receiving honors and awards, etc. We would require that they earn a
certain number of points to remain in the ATEP. Another ideas was
that the student with the most points would be honored with an award
at our end of the year banquet or something along those lines.
Are there any other ATEPs that use such a point system? If so, please
share the details of your system and other thoughts on this listserv.
Thanks, in advance, for your help.
