This is an interesting discussion. I want to add one point. I am
familiar with a number of AT faculty out there who have run afoul of
their institution's regional accrediting agency (most particularly the
Southern Association) who does not accept clinical practice as a
credential to teach the subject matter. The agencies do not accept a
Bachelor's degree, either, as qualification to teach athletic training
to college students, especially at entry-level-Masters programs. How do
we answer this?

Well, all right, why is life worth living? That's a very good question.
Um. Well, there are certain things I guess that make it worthwhile. Uh,
like what? Okay, for me . . . oh, I would say . . . what, Groucho Marx,
to name one thing . . .uh, Willie Mays, and the second movement of the
Jupiter Symphony, and, um, Louis Armstrong's recording of "Potatohead
Blues" . . . um, Swedish movies, naturally, Sentimental Education by
Flaubert . . . um, Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra . . . um, those
incredible apples and pears by Cezanne . . . uh, the crabs at Sam Wo's .
. . Tracy's face . . . .
Woody Allen from Manhattan
