We were working through the new matrix today and are a bit
confused. There are several items that appear in the matrix that do
not appear in the hard copy of the competencies.
The most obvious examples involve the Clinical Proficiencies. In the
Conditioning and Rehabilitative Exercise section (hard copy) there
is one Clinical Proficiency. However, in the matrix, there are also
49 individual proficiencies under the initial proficiency.
It was our understanding the the purpose of the new proficiency
format was to eliminate individual check-offs and have a single (or
2-3) summative evaluations. It was also my understanding that this
summative evaluation might not include every psychomotor skill and
that was OK.
Now, we're wondering if we misunderstood. We're also wondering why
the matrix would be so different from the hard copy.
If anyone could explain this, we'd greatly appreciate it. We just
want to make sure we're doing what's expected of us.
Thanks!
