I view it not so much that we need to throw out or replace the training
in a "traditional" setting for another setting, but that we need to be
sure that preparation for all the settings is equal (as possible). I
think there are still curriculums that place so much emphasis on
training students for the traditional setting that students are not
adequately prepared for employment opportunities in less "traditional"
settings. In addition, I think that when students are only exposed to
practical experience in the collegiate setting, that they come out of
their undergraduate education thinking that the collegiate setting is
the only setting in which they want to practice. A possible reason for
this is because that is the only setting with which they are familiar.
