I shouldn't use the term "useless" because nothing we learn can be called
useless information. I should have said relevent to what athletic trainers are
using on daily basis. My thing I'm looking how AT education is going and it
seems to be moving more toward PT with soon to be stand alone major and possible
moving toward Master as entry level degree.
Dr. Rankin: I should have clarified myself on the potential jobs placement. I
meant overall new grads aren't applying for athletic training positions across
the board. I used the collegiate setting as an example because those stood out
the most. ATEP should be preparing students to work in any setting. Even in the
clinical setting there can be backlash; do you remember the class action suit
athletic trainers put against HealthSouth about six years ago.
