Dear Group:
I was posed a question from one of our staff ATCs regarding indemnity/liability
insurance coverage. Our situation is one that we have numerous opportunties to
provide care and coverage to a variety of community groups (i.e. youth leagues)
as well as intramural campus activities. These group are offering payment for
ATC coverage services.
The question is, is there a need for additional insurance coverage for the
supervising ATC at these events if we involved ATSs? The ATSs are being given
the opportunity to help with coverage of the event (under directed supervision)
so that the funds will be channeled back into the Athletic Training Club account
for later use.
If anyone has had similar experiences with this, please post your reply to the
AT Educ. Listserv. I look forward to your reply.
