This question is for those of you who are in a small ATEP with all
members of a very small faculty (3-5) serving a dual appointment role
with athletics as well. What kind of policies do you have written
out regarding coverage of non-traditional practices, non-traditional
events, practices that involve lifting or conditioning only, and
practices that, during the academic year, do not end until 9:00 p.m.
or after? What kind of support have you received from your adacemic
Dean to ease the "extras" that the athletic departments like to
require from us (i.e. fall baseball practices or spring football
practices, and practices that are scheduled from 8:00 - 10:00 p.m.)?
