This group is for families and patients of Heterotaxy Syndromes.
This includes Asplenia Syndrome, Right Isomerism, or as it has previously been known, Ivemark's Syndrome. The group also includes people with the other type of heterotaxy, Polysplenia, or Left Isomerism. The group includes anyone who has been affected by the syndrome whether their loved one has passed away or is a survivor. The group is also for medical professionals interested in meeting patients with the syndrome. Most patients of the syndrome have some or all of the following characteristics:

• Situs Inversus ambiguous (Heterotaxy)
• Dextrocardia
• Asplenia (no spleen at birth, or spleen abnormalities such as hypoplastic spleen), or Polysplenia
• Congenital Heart Disease of various kinds
• Lung problems related mainly to Polysplenia.
• Malrotation of the intestines
• Mid line liver placement

Over the past year we have managed to form a diverse group of people from many locations, including international, who have one of the types of Heterotaxy.

I would like to start a community so that we can network and share our experiences.
