The only real, even near-close to romantic love of life my life was in his
seventies, (not counting a first grade boyfriend who left me around third grade
when I didn't "grow in maturity" like the other kids). I was in my late 30s. We
were both undiagnosed Aspies. Belonging to the same species is more important
than age. We aspies are ageless, child- like in our loves but extremely deep and
stormy. She will understand you a whole lot more than a NT would and you may be
her only chance of being understood by anyone but God. The fact her parents
"like you already," is a very, telling thing in a positive way. They know their
daughter even better than you do. If they think it has a chance, it very well
may. Ignore, ab-SO-LUTE-LY, ignore what "one person told you." That person
doesn't know diddly squat about the situation. If you marry, do financial
planning together very carefully. She will, of course, very likely outlive you.
Consider not having kids. We make lousy parents. Or at least that has been my
(admittedly limited) experience.
