Dear Mr. Moon,
Thank you for your courteous, positive invitation to travel to Parma, Italy
at my cost to have a brief face-to-face meeting on the afternoon of
Wednesday November 26 with an European Food Safety Authority team of experts
on an Organizing Team for me to have "...the opportunity to highlight
through direct contact the key information you consider important and for
the experts to clarify with you any points they may have relating to your
submission." -- regarding crucial, generally dismissed issues re aspartame
toxicity, namely that human bodies quickly convert the 11% methanol
component of aspartame into formaldehyde and then formic acid, both toxins,
neurotoxins, genotoxins, and carcinogens -- preparing for a January meeting
of EFSA "National Experts".
Last night I called Mark D. Gold, like me, a conscientious, careful medical
layman who has been giving unpaid volunteer service for over a decade by
composing detailed, long, fair, civil reviews, as a fully identified author,
using mainly mainstream medical and media sources, as well as many reports
of uneven quality by aspartame reactors, usually anonymous -- his work has
always inspired and guided me as an outstanding example of consistently high
quality service as an Internet information activist.

He agreed with me that he would prefer the far more convenient venue of a
telephone conference call, possibly including web video, which can
accomodate a large number of competent citizens on both sides of the issue.
So, I am sharing my proposal with many concerned citizens, asking them to
phone or email you by Monday 17 November.
1. Since aspartame (methanol, formaldehyde, formic acid) toxicity is an
immediate life and death issue, the public must be provided online at no
cost with the uncensored, unedited telephone, internet video, and video of
the face-to-face discussion and its transcript, along with free access to
the participants' identities, contact information, qualifications, funding,
and associations, and online texts of abstracts and full papers, if
possible, under discussion.
2. The discussion process will be immeasurably more beneficial to the world
at large if it is initiated before the public face-to-face meeting and
continued afterwards as an Internet discussion group with a permanent,
freely available archive. Moderation should be limited to enforcing
relevancy and courtesy. Participants should have verifiable identities.
The lack of open public dialogue among the various sides in the genial
scientific tradition based on reason and verifiable public evidence in this
critical health emergency is tragic, harmful, unnecessary, avoidable, and
easily remedied, now.
3. Due to the sudden expiration of my main computer, and my own lamentable
inattention, I neglected to send more citations before your 31 October
deadline, so I will venture now to offer these, hoping that the Organizing
Team is indeed highly motivated to access all recent research -- let me know
if I may submit more by Friday November 21.

Dear Mr Murray,
I write further to your submission to the EFSA 'call for data' regarding
aspartame, where it was noted that you would be willing to further support
the information you have provided.
The Organising Team of experts from Member States preparing for the January
meeting of National Experts would like to offer you the opportunity to
support your submission in a short face to face meeting with the team on the
afternoon of Wednesday 26 November, 2008 at the EFSA offices in Parma, Italy
I realize that this is relatively short notice, but would like to reassure
you that your submission will be fully considered whether you are able to
take up this offer nor not. It is simply designed to give you the
opportunity to highlight through direct contact the key information you
consider important and for the experts to clarify with you any points they
may have relating to your submission.
Regrettably, I must advise you that we are not able to provide any financial
assistance towards travel and subsistence for attending this meeting.
Further details of the afternoon will be provided in due course, but in the
meantime I would welcome an indication of your availability to attend the
meeting as soon as possible, and preferably by Monday 17 November.
If you have any enquiries relating to the meeting or your submission, please
do not hesitate to contact me.
Kindest regards,
Jeff Moon
