Hi there!

I believe "chromium" will help your husband greatly because it
helps blood cells to take in insulin much better.  Many type 1
diabetic sufferers suffer from heart attacks because their body
is LEFT with both high blood sugar and unprocessed insulin
(not sensitive to insulin).

Magnesium will also protect the body from any refined foods that
may contain unlabelled aspartame.

Speak to someone who's a trained holistic dietician or
homeopathic doctor.

Some doctors laugh that GMO foods and aspartame are
fallacies because these doctors too are largely "rewarded" by
pharmaceutical companies.  These doctors feel they have
no monetary gains from people getting well!

Go with doctors who believe in treating you with as little
interference with your body's natural functions.  Many
prescription drugs actually push toxins back into your body,
only for other more serious ailments to appear.

Well, he does monitor his BGLs ... The only thing he has changed is removing aspartame from his diet ... he is pretty good at monitoring his body ... this is what is so frustrating, cause he hasn't changed his eating habits, low sugar intake, but he is gaining weight fairly quickly .... I told him we can go to his doctor ... some doctors laugh at the very fact that aspartame is a problem, and some actually recommend these diet drinks are Okay for Diabetics... .Well, I am going to encourage him to drink more water...and get more raw vegetables for him to snack on during the day...He's sort of limited himself to the banana, apple, and orange, but I don't think that is enough. Thanx for your advice.
