Hi all,
I'm on day 4 of no aspartame and I feel like crap. The headache is constant.
I'm drinking some black tea to try and off set any caffeine withdrawal...but I
know from my own pattern of going on and off aspartame that the headaches are
not really caffeine related. This time I hope that I NEVER go back to aspartame
products again! I have zero tolerance for them and can't use them in
moderation. I rapidly up my intake as soon as I start using them again. Good
luck to everyone coming off of the poisonous stuff. I'm sure that it gets much
better in time.

story of false diagnosis and/or weird symptoms, but just the consecuence of

children, i was advised that i had PCOS given medication and told i was
borderline diabetic and to loose weight. So I quit drinking regular pepsi and
switched to diet coke. I have been drinking diet coke daily for the last 8
years. Luckily I did loose alot of weight and had two beautiful babies. Due to
complications with both my pregnancies I was pretty much on bedrest and unable
to work, so I am a stay at home mom. My headaches started several years ago. I
would say close to the time I started drinking diet coke. I had EEG MRI CAT and
tested for Vertigo. All negative, except for cyst on pituitary, but was told
that most people have cysts on pituitary. Nothing was ever found. So my doctor
started treating me for add and depression with adderall and effexor. that
seemed to help until recently. My headaches have gotten much much worse. I had
horrible brain fog. forgot everything. could not carry on a conversation.
slurred speach. near fainting. blood pressure being very high and also very low.
numbness. joint and muscle pain. lighheadedness. I could go on and on.A few
weeks ago my doctor advised me to stop drinking diet coke. I laughed. how could
it cause all this. We changed my medication around. I had another MRI. Took more
blood tests. Nothing. After going to the ER last week with severe headache and
blind spot in eye, I finally took his advice.AMAZING. I can think. the wool has
been removed, I dont hurt from carpel tunnel or back hip knee pain. Most of all
I can remember peoples names. It is truely night and day. However, my headaches
have gotten much worse. It could be withdrawl. I drank up to 12 cans a day. I
drink a little coffee to help with the caffeine withdrawl, but I am not much of
a coffee drinker.So here I am. A new believer. All you have to do is talk to my
husband. He was so worried about me that he took a semester off school and
requested no overtime at work. He has been both mom and dad for the last few
months because I have felt so bad. But I am back.Thanks to everyone everywhere
who cares enough to get the word out. If it was not for the information from my
doctor and what I read online, I would be in a mental ward right
