Public Retraction:

I on some earlier occasion told someone that I thought that Betty Martini's
husband was a doctor, and I was mistaken. I am making this public retraction
because Ms. Martini is now threatening to sue me. She did not specify what other
"slanderous" things I was supposedly saying (this is the only thing she was
specific about), but she did indicate that she was going to try and get
depositions for people who report things to her that I tell them in private
e-mails. So anyone who is doing this should consider contracting a lawyer,
because I cannot be too sure how far this nonsense is likely to actually
progress at this point.

I am sorry to have to make another embarrassing revelation like this, but I
didn't expect to get an e-mail like the one I got today!

By the way, I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming show of support that I
have been getting in all of the private e-mails that I have been receiving from
the members of this list. It truly is heartening.
