I saw a CNN News report today on the prison at Alderson, West Virginis where
Martha Stewart will be serving 5 months and as the reporter spoke, a large Coke
truck with Diet Coke written on it slowly drove past the camera, already on the
'grounds' to make its delivery. Martha is already a 'user.' When she was on
trial, a gourmet meal was delivered every day to her and her group, along with
diet Coke, tucked into and chilling on ice.
Diane Fleming, serving a 30 plus 20 years sentence in a Virginia prison for the
'aspartame death' of her husband was able to get the aspartame diet drinks out
of the jail (some kind of kool-aid-type drink.) Brava, Diane. Visitors can
still buy diet Coke in the machines.
Diane, for those of you who don't know the case was accused of putting Krystal
Kleer windshield washer fluid (with methanol) into her husband's Gatorade.
I believe the real reason Diane was convicted was because the jury didn't like
her... there was no real evidence but Diane made the mistake of a lifetime when
she switched out a hard drive in her computer when the police had asked for the
computers. The 'new' hard drive showed Diane making a search for 'methanol' on
May 15th about a month before her husband died. But as Diane wrote to me, how
could there be a May 15th date when she switched out the hard drive AFTER her
husband died, in June.
So clever was she unfortunately, that she paid cash for the hard drive and
destroyed the receipt which would have proved her innocence.
I would also like to point out the bottle of Krystal Kleer was 'sealed.' And
when Diane asked the detective about this on the day of the trial, the detective
said, she 'didn't recall.' What I say is wasn't there anyone there that day
logging in the items confiscated? Was no one taking notes? Diane also gave the
police the Gatorade... now why would a murderer relinquish the murder weapon and
why would she leave a poisonous bottle of Gatorade in the fridge where her then
7-year old daughter could get at it?
Always my best,
