seeking assistance VERY SOON ...please help!   Message List

I am moving to NC from having spent several years in the midwest, and
my 9 year old relatively-high functioning son Solan is coming along. We
will be in Durham - and all of the schools say I must enroll in person
not do any of it ahead of time. This poses a slight problem. My son
will be changing everything he has ever known - and might be very
upset. We are on state assistance here, and shall be in NC. My
conundrum is: where to find a special needs drop in daycare or some
form of assistance, so I can do all of my running around and waiting at
social services office, DPS offices, and whatever all else? I called
the Durham Center, have emailed several services, but they are taking
forever to get back ahold of me. Please, if you know of low to no cost
services for an immediate situation such as this, where I can pre plan
where he will be ahead of time........it would be EVER SO APPRECIATED.

THANK YOU.
Tasha
