First this is a long shot, I was wondering if anyone is going to the
Introduction to Verbal Behavior workshop in DC next week. If so,
wondering if you would want to drive/ride together and/or meetup. I
am leaving wednesday evening. I think I forgot what it is like to
do things by myself :p

Second, does anyone know of area respite providers (sliding scale)
for children (autistic) under age 3? Unfortunately I had come to
rely on the Arc for this invaluable service (especially during the
summer with my big kids home) and now they are not serving the under
3 year olds. Our occasional babysitter can "manage" Ben but I was
hoping for something a little more (and less expensive).

Additionally I am looking for ideas for containing my little escape-
artist/runner. We had a scare recently where Ben left the house.
Honestly, I'm not even sure how because I thought he couldn't open
the door (we have one of those simple squeeze child locks on it).
He doesn't understand streets and he's very very attracted to water
(and he doesn't at all respond to his name, so calling for him is
useless)- needless to say I was freaking out. We rent, so I
hesitate to make any permanent changes to the house, but obviously
we will if that's the only good option.
