Hello everyone! I hope this finds all of you doing well and enjoying
this
time for family and friends. I want to first wish all of you a
wonderful
holiday season and a happy New Year! Thank you for everything you do
each
day for the autism community. You really make a difference in the
lives of
individuals on the autism spectrum and their families!
There are a few things I want to tell you about. I have hired an
Administrative Assistant to help me in the Chapters Relations office
at
ASNC. Marty Kellogg is a parent of a young man with Asperger Syndrome
and
will be working 10 hours a week to help Chapters and to serve as
my "back up
brain". I am so happy to have the help and I know you will all enjoy
getting
to know her. Her e-mail address is mkellogg@... and
she can
be reached at my phone number at ASNC which is 919-743-0204 extension
52.
Please copy her on e-mails you are sending to me related to Chapter
Relations issues. She may be responding to your questions when you
call or
e-mail, especially when I am travelling. With Marty's help, we hope
to be
easier to reach and quicker to respond to your needs.
The Autism Society is working on improving the ability for families to
connect with their local support groups. They want to provide a
contact list
for Chapters and Affiliates on our ASNC website. The idea is to
include a
list of each group, the leader or leaders' names and the e-mail
addresses.
No phone numbers will be shared. Please let me know as soon as
possible if
you have any problem with your name and e-mail address being included.
Thanks!
Also, I want to thank all of you who are passing on the info you
receive
from our office to your membership. You are helping spread the word
about
upcoming events and new information and issues related to autism that
affect
all of us. You are often the best way for this information to get to
the
community and I thank you for your efforts. If you are not currently
passing
on the info you receive, please start to do that so we can reach more
individuals and families. Related to this, we are getting very close
to
finally having enough applications for the Autism Society of NC
license
plates. We need 300 applications before they will start making the
license
plates and we are short about 40. If each Chapter was to get one
person to
sign up for an ASNC license plate, we would make our quota and the
license
plates would get made. Thanks for passing this request on to your
members.
People will be able to sign up on the ASNC website.
Lastly, I am still missing quite a few of the Chapter Quarterly
Reports for
the period of July 1, 2006 to September 30, 2006. If you have not had
a bank
account during this period you do not have to complete this report.
If your
Chapter has had a bank account, we need this information if at all
possible.
The current Quarterly period we are in now will end on December 31
and I
will be asking Chapters to complete the next Quarterly report soon.
This is
the last chance to get in the late report that ended in September.
Thanks
for understanding the importance of these reports to keep us all
financially
sound. I have attached another copy of the Quarterly Financial Report
in
case you have misplaced yours. You can send completed forms to me at
the
ASNC office. Please let me know if you have questions or if I can
help in
any way. Thanks!
Thanks again for everything and have a wonderful holiday!
Ann
