Hi Karen,
Julia was on high dose prednisone for a few months and she did develop a "beer belly" and her cheeks got bigger. She had a great appetite and gained a lot of weight (which was welcome at the time). After she was weaned to a maintenance dose of hydrocortisone the belly and cheeks went back to normal.
I hope that Charlotte is feeling better.

Subject: [apeced] re - stretch marks
Hi everyone,
i wonder if any can help me with a question. Charlotte has recently developed a couple if stretch marks on her abdomen. Tis follows her being on a high dose of hydrocortisone foe adrenal crisis. I think she is on a high maintenance dose anyway, she is on 20MG twice a day. She seem to think the marks are because she has put a bit of weight on, but I wonder if its because of overdose of cortisol as in cushings syndrome. You thoughts would be appreciated
