Hi All-
I hope this message finds you all well and you are enjoying your
summer. I was interested in getting some advice on treating oral
thrush/candidiasis for Joseph my 20 month old. He has had thrush
every month since he was 9 months old and we treated it every month
until it came back again the next month. It has been two months now
since we have not treated it becasue it hasn't been as obvious yet I
do think it is there because his tongue has light white spots on it
at times. I am concerned that if it is in his mouth it is also in
his digestive tract and intestines and may be why he has loose soft
stools most of the time, has a poor very appetite, and strongly
opposes tart or sour foods. I was wondering if it would be a good
idea to treat it constantly to be sure it doesn't return or is it
better to only treat if the trush is really obvious yet I would think
if it is in his mouth it is probably causing him problems in his
membranes of his digestive tract too. I am uncertain if it is making
him feel bad and casuing him more problems than what can be seen in
the mouth. Also does a person with ACEPED that gets candidiasis
always have a problem with it or is it something that may last for
several months but then eventually never cause them an issue again.
I didn't know if candidiasis will be a problem he will always have.
If there are any recommndations you may have or advice given to you
by your doctors I would love to hear about it. Thank you again - we
appreciate your support so much. God bless, Susan
