My son, Ryan, has the same symptoms when he gets the overgrowth of
yeast. He is now taking Diflucan 100mg daily. I think you mentioned
in a previous email you take Diflucan also. How long do you take it
when you realize you are having yeast problems?
Thanks for your help,
Vicki

usually causes decreased if not little to no appetite, burning upon
eating, and slowed emptying of food in my stomach making me full very
quickly (with one or two bites of food). When I have had this, I
think I did have trouble with absorption and digestion from my
stomach. I Know that mine began after my parietal cells died off due
to pernicious anemia - so my stomach is not very acidic anymore (it's
at about the level of babies or older adults) - this higher pH (lower
acidity) makes absorption and breakdown of certain nutrients less
effective in the stomach. - this is how my GI explains it. So since
pernicious anemia, I've had to increase my calcium intake (per my
endo and lab results) becuase its absorption decreased due to my
stomach acidity change. I never did get yeast in my small intestine
(where most absorption takes place) and therefore don't think I had
any problems there. It's something to look
> into though, because if our immune systems are compromised at
different times, the bacteria in our GI could be altered. Yeast
tends to grow when the bacterial environment changes or decreases -
that's why when you take an antibiotic, oftentimes you may bet a
vaginal yeast infection because even good bacteria was killed and
allowed the overgrowth of yeast there. So say if our immunity
changes and the bacterial environment in our GI changes, I would
think it would be possible to get yeast overgrowht and thus have
decreased absorption of foods and nutrients. (my perspective anyway)
