I also was informed recently by my endo that doctors are trying to
manage hypoparathyroidism with as minimal calcitriol as possible and as
much oral calcium as possible to keep levels of calcium in a good
range. It must be the latest guidelines. She drastically cut (almost
reduced by half) my rocaltrol dose when I switched to her from my
pediatric endocrinologist a few years ago. I was wondering why but now
I understand more fully.
