Re: [apeced] Re: Calcium carbonate and nausea

Thanks to all for the helpful responses. We found a liquid calcium gluconate
supplement. The only supplier of the product in Ontario seems to be Walmart of
all places. The tip to make sure Julia takes the calcium on a full stomach seems
to be helping already. She has vomited less over the last few days. She is also
on calcitriol, but seems to need quite a bit of calcium also. I don't think she
would do very well with the chews yet, but they are great to know about for when
she is a bit bigger.
Thanks again,
Jennifer

There are also Viactiv chews you could always try. I have been taking Calcium
citrate for some time now and only ever notice burping afterwards. Of course, I
take it with food, since they are horse pills. I think the Viactiv chews may be
easier to digest - if all she needs is a form of calicum supplement to take with
her rocaltrol.

Julia

Hi Julia, One reason for the lower calcitriol doses may be the build up of calcium in the kidneys. The oral calcium is less likely to cause this. I was also...
