Thank you for joining our effort! Before you begin, please read the
following.
1. Rules of Decorum
Obviously, it is important to abide by the Yahoo Answers!
guidelines. However, we want to do more than that. We want to
exhibit true compassion.
Sadly, anyone who asks a question about finding herself in an
unplanned pregnancy is likely to get an answer along the lines
of "Get an abortion, welfare whore!" Let's counter with a positive
message: "You CAN be a great mom, you are not alone, and we'll direct
you to the resources you need."
2. How to Answer a Question
A- If asker has provided her name, use it.
B- Give a straightforward, fact-based answer to the question. Do not
sidetrack into morality and/or politics.
C- Link to further information. Our group page contains numerous
links, sorted by category.
D- If you know that you'll be online for a while, end with "You're
welcome to IM/email me."
E- Add asker as a contact, if her settings allow it.
F- Follow up. If you see that the question has gone into voting,
vote for your own. (No, it's not to be vain- best answers show up
first in searches!)
3. Your profile
We ask that you add the following to your profile information:
"I am a member of the Yahoo Answers Crisis Pregnancy Response Team.
We are not Yahoo employees- just volunteers who dedicate our time to
giving honest, compassionate answers to questions about unplanned
pregnancy and related issues. If you are interested in joining the
team, send me a message!"
You're ready to go- thank you, and happy answering!
