Hi Kerri et al:

Since the sense of smell in the medical profession can be important
(eg. foul-smelling stool as a clue to cystic fibrosis, IBD, or Celiac
Sprue), did you all explain to your employers before being hired that
you are anosmic and did you ask for accommodations? If so, what
accommodations? Are co-workers informed that they have to cover for
you? I'm curious why anosmia is accepted as a complete disability for
a computer technician (required to smell a component overheating) but
not for a doctor or a nurse.
