I lost my sense of smell 2 years ago October. I have allergies and suffer
from frequent colds, and during one of these colds, I noticed I couldn't smell
anything. I've been on countless prescriptions Duratuss, ClaritenD, steriod
nasal sprays, many different kinds, nothing helps, also, surgery for nasal
polyps was a disaster. The only drug that worked for me was prednisone.
However, this drug has too many side effects to stay on it, per my Dr. I only
can smell when I'm in the middle of a series of Prednisone. My Dr. only put
me on it two times, for a couple of weeks each time. From what I remember, it
took a few days for the drug to work, but as soon as I stop taking it, I can
no longer smell. I begged him to continue the script, but he wouldn't. You
would think the steriod nasal sprays would help, but they do nothing.
I've enjoyed reading everyone's comments for the past few months.
They can put a man on the moon..........but they can't help us to smell
again!!!!!
It's truly a disability to have this condition.
Thanks for listening,
Eve in Michigan
