Hi all,
I am interested to hear if any of you have found any private schools for
your angelman kids that are geared toward their communication needs.
Integration seems to be the only option here in Dallas at this time and I am
not thrilled with it. The classroom teacher is not a special ed teacher and
the aide is only as good as who you get. They are inexperienced and
underpaid. I am concerned she would not be getting the special ed attention
she needs. Caroline is doing very well physically. She is able to walk
well, climb into a car independently et. Her biggest challenges involve her
inattentiveness and her lack of an established communication system. We are
using PECS and sign language combined. I am looking for a program that would
continue to use these systems consistently. Anybody have any suggestions or
programs they would share?
