The angelman list provides an easy an efficient way for caregivers of people with Angelman's Syndrome (AS) to exchange information and support. Parents, family members, and teaching and medical professionals are welcome.
Here is info about me and a description of our mailing list. Please introduce yourself and your child or your reason for interest to the list;
we parents are hungry for contact with others who have experience with AS!
Our son, Austin, is 3 years old. He was diagnosed, at just under
2.5 years old and is deletion positive (i.e., he is missing an area of
one of his 15th chromosomes).
He has an abnormal EEG, seizure disorder, severe mental and physical delays, hypersensitivities, problems with feeding and speaking (he does have 2 words), and a severe, continuing sleeping disorder. My husband and I sleep in shifts. Austin is commando crawling now, and we are thrilled even though this is a bit late even for an "angel"-- it is a lot of fun to watch him enjoy a little independence.
