Hi,too, Kimberle, and Hello Lewie! I swear cigarettes is the worst!!
I am becoming more of a non-smoker every day. But sometimes I sure
miss those cigarettes. I am using gum and lozenges, which I believe
do help me. I have dropped down to the 2 mg. But I can still take
too many of those and get an itchy rash.
I am 52 and not in a hurry to die. I have a 12 year old I need to be
around for. My mom died of lung cancer, cancer of the esophagus, and
emphysema in '94 at 56 years! I figure I'm running out of time.
Unfortunately for me, I don't have any real desire to live to 85 or
anything like that. I've lived, my son is 30 and doesn't really need
me anymore. I finally gave him a sibling so I know he won't be alone
after I die and of course she'll have him too. Since I have no real
retirement I can only anticipate being a burden - not a thrill!
Don't get me wrong, I'm not in any hurry to die! It's just that
lacking the desire to live to 100 worked against me until I had my
daughter. Now I'd like to see her grown and settled so I need at
least 18 more years on the planet!
No, I'm not worried about seeing grandchildren. My son is 30 and not
married and my daughter says she'll have lots of dogs - but she's
willing to let me live with her if I'll help take care of them LOL!
Anyway - as to smoking - the only thing you should never quit - is
quitting! Keep on trying. It'll take eventually!
