Oh, I do know about waiting! Once I left a doctors office in the
middle of the visit because I had to pick up my daughter, who was then
4. I scheduled plenty of time, but they didn't even put me in the
room until 1/2 hour past my appointment time. Then I waited in there
another 20 minutest. Then I was out of time! That never happened
again after that.
Now they tell me when they're running late and offer me the option of
re-scheduling.
Here's a good story that's related: Years ago, when my son was about
3, I found out that when you run into the doctors office with a
toddler, a paper bag and a roll of paper towels they don't make you
wait at all! LOL!
Personally, I find it disrespectful when professionals expect you to
wait more than 20 minutes past an appointment time without
communication! I got sober but I didn't turn into a doormat!
Got good news from my son: He's currently in the police academy in
Raleigh training to become a corrections officer. He'd really like to
become a police officer, but he's hoping that this will lead to
something better later. I'm glad that he seems to have some direction
(and that it's one that will put him on THIS side of the bars!)
