Hi there!
My name is David Hughes and, as you may know, I started the group so that people coping with Anencephaly could support and share with one another. I founded my first Yahoo Group several years ago when it was discovered that my two sons had been born with a rare genetic disorder called ATR-X. Since then I have added over 600 groups that now serve over 50,000 members.
Over the years, I have sought to improve our support community but have been limited by the constraints of Yahoo. This is why I am so excited to have finally found CarePlace where we can take our group to the next level!
Check out our community at http://www.careplace.com/land/Anencephaly - I know you will love it!
CarePlace is a new and unique website where people with similar health related concerns and their caregivers can share experiences, support one another and exchange information in a more dynamic and exciting way. And, the CarePlace team is committed to creating a customized community for our members.
At CarePlace, we will be able to create our own webpages, join many communities at once, share online journals with family members and friends, and chat live with one another. This will allow us to connect with more people, find a greater range of resources, and better support one another.
We have already built such a strong support network here (with 193 members!) and my hope is that everyone will join us at CarePlace where can build on what we've created.
Please visit our Anencephaly community at http://www.careplace.com/land/Anencephaly.
Please friend me when you join - my nickname name is "dhughes". I look forward to seeing you there and working together to make CarePlace our new home!
Warm regards,
David
