I am so sorry that this has happened to you. My best guess is that the doctors don't have a clue why this happens or what can stop it from happening. I am sure that I am going to offend some people here but it you want my opinion STOP taking the folic acid.

I am a true believer now that it does nothing. I took folic acid with my son that had Anencephaly. I had 3 children that where fine and healthy before him without folic acid. I found out that I am pregnant this year and I was not on any form of folic acid and this baby is fine. My sister works in the med. profession and she talked to a neurologist and he told us that he thinks that it has something to do with internal body core temperature. AT any rate what ever it is that causes this you have definitely had your share and it isn't fair. I wish you all the best and good luck what ever you do.
