I'm a Holistic Health Practicioner looking for new clients. If
you're interested in receiving a very good theraputic massage,
please call (619) 778-3126 for an appointment.
Dear Liesbeth,
Thanks so much for getting back to me. I appreciate it very
much.
I had no idea that they even opened up a new center. How
did you find out? The amazing thing is that the cost in
2002 might have been $500 but already it has gone up to
$700!
I also agree that it is very expensive...
But I am very excited to head out there.
Indeed I do have more questions for you...I hope you don't
mind ;]
I was curious about the course.
How intensive it was.
The hours you spent per day and with the extra time during
the day what you did. Did you enjoy your stay in Kathmandu?
Were you able to enjoy Nepal aside from the center?
I might try to go trekking after the program just for 3
days.
Also, how much of what you learned through the center do
you utilize currently?
I think that is it for now.
Thank you so much!
Sincerely,
Moon

Dear Moon,
I studied for allmost 2 months at the Center of healing hands in 2002. At the
time I was there the center was still located in the center of Kathmandu, wich
was not so nice (airpollution in kathmandu is a serious problem!), but I think
the new center must be in a more green surrounding and is probably more spacious
too.
As for the teaching, I learned so much and Rahul is very capable teacher, we
were only 2 persons taking the month course so we also had time to go further
into other healing techniques than the Thai massage only. I was only going to
stay 1 month but continued following (free) the courses that started during the
next month, so i was able to practice a lot which was great. The only thing that
bothered me a bit were the prices, 500 dollars for the month course at the time,
which is a huge amount of money if you consider that the average income per
month in Nepal is about 100 dollars. But okay, no regrets.
So I hope you enjoy your stay and the beautifull art of thai massage. If you have
any questions, feel free to mail me!
Namaste!

hello Liesbeth,
On my bookshelfs I have two books, one is very illustrative and very instructive
but not so deep on complaints : Thai Yoga Massage - Kam Thye Chow ISBN
0-892181-937-5
and my favourite book is Thai Masasge manual - Maria Mercati ISBN 0-8069-1755-5
It contains several suggested sequences to treat complaints.
I bought both books in a regular new age shop in the Netherlands. (I presume you
are dutch aswell?)
kind regards,
namaste

I was wondering if anyone had any info on this? A Spa in Canada is
offering it to quote thier website ( Notice it's a solo exercise..)
"Ruesri Dat Ton, which means "Hermit's Self-Stretching Exercise" in
English, is a Thai method of physical exercise that has been
practiced since ancient times. It emphasizes training in breathing
along with meditation; thus, it is an exercise for the body as well
as the mind. Ruesri Dat Ton also helps to treat ailments in their
early stages.
The Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine, a
division of the Thailand Ministry of Public Health, has selected 15
basic positions of Ruesri Dut Ton which are ideally suited for
people who wish to begin to gain familiarity with the exercise
system, and balance the structure of the body. People who practice
the Ruesri Dat Ton postures consistently will not only improve their
health but will also effectively prevent numerous diseases from
developing" (http://www.evranch.com/thai_spa_ruesri.asp)
I'd love to be able to learn about it for two reasons, I would like
to practice it for my own well-being and second I think it would be
helpful to show clients so they could do this inbetween thai
bodywork sessions.. ( Which I already tell most that a yoga practice
is helpful.)
With peace,
Kelly

Hello caroline,
I am sort of in the same position as you. I have studied here in the
Netherlands thai yoga massage for 2 years now and want to learn it
from an more authentic source.
It occured to me that you are in a same fase of considering what to
do. Therefore i'd like to share with you my opinion.
I was considering in going to Thailand/Chang mai first. Going during
the day to the practice/massage school having lessons with approx. 30
people and then going to your room in a guesthouse in a busy and
crowded city is quite different from the advantages of kathmandu,
Nepal.
I think it appeals more to me to go to Nepal. The one month course
and sleeping over there as well. Being with people with common
interests seems great to me. After the praticing lessons being in the
same environment and spirit. It has some more magic for me that way,
I guess. and don't mention the view at the Himalaya.
Thailand is a country that I problably will visit some time as a
tourist.
I am very curious to learn what you decide. I want to go next year in
summertime, but I have heard that Rahul the teacher of the healing
hands center is abroad in Europe then. (in july and august) So I am
planning to go in september. haven't booked yet. but i am very
serious about my plans.
maybe this helped you a little bit in making your choice.
if someone has another opinion and would like to share this, please
do!
love and light,
ellen
greetings,
i am researching different schools where i can learn thai (ancient) massage.
has anyone heard of, experienced or know about the ancient massage
foundation/ healing hands center in kathmandu, nepal?
learning thai massage in thailand may seem more reasonable, but nepal is
tugging at my spirit.
i'd love to hear from anyone who wants to share information or thoughts about
this program...or nepal vs. thailand. i have not visited either place.
thanks!
peace and blessings,
caroline
Hi all,
I'm looking for someone in the West Suburban
part of Illinois who would be willing to apply
a backwalking massage on me. I've tried other
types of massage, but none of them work on me.
I've had my back walked on before, but I'm in no
position to pay $60 every week. I'm married with
2 kids, 6'-1", 314lbs. and I work with a lot of
heavy material causing my back to stiffen up a lot.
If you're willing and able to walk on my back, you'd
have a friend for life.
Thanks in advance,
O. Blair
Hello, I'm looking for someone in the Western suburbs of Illinois
who wouldn't mind giving backwalking massages.
I'm 6'-1 1/2", 314lbs., I live outside of Joliet, Il.
I'm married with 2 kids, so I'm not looking for anything more than
a massage. Friendship would be nice, if you wouldn't mind walking on
my back as well, that'd be great.
Thanks in advance.
