hello my name is ubaldo i, did the 1 month course in october 2005 i
would like to now if anybody will go back in katmandou 2006 for 1
month course ??????? peace may the light be with you .
There are a number of sources of DVD's showing Thai massage routines.
However, it is not likely that you will be good at treating people to a good
level without attending training classes to have your technique supervised
by an instructor where you will learn how to apply the techniques properly.
You can do this by taking a holiday to Thailand and attending one of the
schools in Chiang Mai or at Wat Po in Bangkok, the training is not expensive
and you will then be a certificated teacher.
Thai massage should not be done by an untrained person as a professional
treatment that the customer is paying for.
You should not call yourself a Thai Massage practitioner if you have not
been properly and fully trained in the subject.

sorry for my english.
i have a proposition to work in a Spa, did you experience working like
that?having two massage a day that enought no?
morning time and afternoon.can you share your experince with me.
thank you. Namaste

When you are doing the massage routine then intention should be to respond
to your clients body reaction and needs, to feel the release of tension and
tightness, to get a smooth flowing range of movement and relaxed muscles, as
you do that ..letting your mind and body relax into your work...... you will
find that the time taken will be different with each client and the routine
will be varied to meet each different person's needs.
After a few treatments along those lines you could find that you are doing
a good routine and taking about one and a half to two hours on each.
About the rhythm count: -
Ideally you need to find the rhythm counting that will suit
you....suggestions are to try...counting as you apply the pressure....
"one and two and release"....
next thumb is them starting on
"one, and two and release"...
the "release" is the transition from pressure on one thumb into the pressure
on the other to give an gentle increase of pressure over the pressure point,
sustain it and gently release it.
With that as a basis you can then time your whole treatment and rework your
methods.
I hope this wil give you some ideas to work along and I will be interested
to hear other views and suggestions.

I use the rhythm of my breath as much as possible through out the practice. For
extended sessions: over 90 minutes I do some of the sen lines along the legs as
well as foot pressing the hamstrings (different angle) while they are in
sidelying position.

The speed should be one finger pressure/breath and you should breath according
to your client's mood. I have done this and the whole massage took 4 hours.
The Wat Pho Style is the preferred way of most Asians but I have been using the
Northern style to accommendate my western clients who prefer the softer and
gentler treatments. The golden rules is to provide the best services that cater
to your client's needs and make sure you are well compensate for your time and
efforts. Have a wonderful time and share all the loving/healing energy to this
world. Jyh Ming (Jimmy)

My condolences to Asokananda's family and friends over the sad loss of a man
who had inspired many to follow the way.
When his eulogy is being read, with his life's actions revealed, we can be
proud of the things they say, about how he spent his life.

Dear Penelope,
It varies from country to country and from state to state and change
from time to time.
There is not such things as an internationally recognized
certificates.
In other word legislation for therapists (physiotherapists) is
deferent in different places and that very legislation evolve,
become more liberal or more restrictive.
The main issue in general is the illegal practice of medicine by
unqualified practitioners which did harm on many occasion.
Giving preventive (and relaxing) massage with no intention to be a
medical practitioner is generally now widely accepted but not
everywhere.
Kind regards,
