Don't forget nickel poisoning as well.  Nickel, besides putting you in a lifetime of misery with rashes, dermatitis and sinus problems, et. al., also hypersensitizes you to all other metals and renders you intolerant of your amalgam fillings.  We are biological entities, not robotic entities.  We should take special care to only repair our body parts with strictly biocompatible metals if we use metals on ourselves at all.  This IS the 21st century is it not? 
Lead gets all the press but mercury is very much more toxic and nickel can also produce symptoms as bad as or worse than lead.  We're back to the special interest groups marginalizing and downplaying the extreme toxicity of mercury (and nickel) to excuse its use in dentistry and medicine.  The medical folks are NOT trained to recognize and diagnose any kind of metal poisoning.

What's even worse is that Lead and Mercury together are synergistically toxic. Double duty. I wish they would wake up. ... same can be said for mercury...
