I'm passing a warning on from my dentist for all you guys out there
who are considering removing your 'silver' fillings.
If you believe you are allergic to your fillings it is incredibly
important you get an allergy test from your doctor before removing
your fillings. Even if you have the so called 'low level' allergies
to mercury it is still important to be tested I have been told.
The reason for this is that when your tooth fillings are removed
they are melted in your mouth. Unfortunately if you are allergic to
the mercury this level of toxicity will be very dangerous. I am
told also very threatening to those who show as allergic from the
tests available by your doctor. Preventative measures will need to
be taken to those showing positive for allergies to the metals.
(In Britain) If you show as allergic the NHS should pay for your
fillings to be removed. Also (in Britain) the dentists are not
allowed (by law) to refer you for these tests. Don't ask me why.
It's a load of legal mumbo-jumbo. The best you can do is persuade
your GP to send you for the tests. You also need a pretty good
reason to ask for the tests unless you go private (like showing
significant symptoms of known allergic reactions to mercury
poisoning).
Ok - probably a lot of the people who run this forum know this
warning already but I thought I'd pass it on anyway because it came
as a shock just how dangerous removing the fillings could be without
the tests for those who are already very ill.
Have a good day peeps. x
