Alas, not only do most of them still use amalgam but when you try to tell them you cannot tolerate it or that it is a health hazard, they get angry and defensive.  They had to place amalgam to pass their state boards, it's easier to manage than other materials (not technique sensitive) plus it's cheaper for their hapless patients.
