IAHF OPPOSES CITIZENS FOR HEALTHS DESPICABLE ENDORSEMENT OF
S.3546: "Dietary Supplement and Nonprescription Drug Consumer Act,"


IAHF List:

Citizens for Health is a controlled opposition group working on
behalf of the pharma dominated vitamin trade associations. Today I
was not surprised to see them send a message out to their list (which
I monitor) which urges the vitamin consuming public to slash their
own throats by pushing for passage of S.3546: "Dietary Supplement and
Nonprescription Drug Consumer Act"

This terrible bill is well exposed by Gerald Kessler's Nutritional
Health Alliance (see http://www.nha2004.com/index_res.asp?
w=1024&h=768, and IAHF, the National Health Federation and a growing
number of small innovative dietary supplement companies including the
Life Extension Foundation and Wellness Resources oppose this bill
because it does not have language that would allow causality to be
determined when an adverse reaction is reported to the FDA stemming
from a toll free number which the bill would require be put on
vitamin bottles if it were passed into law.

In other words, if someone were taking a half dozen toxic Rx drugs,
and along with them they were taking a safe dietary supplement, and
they had an adverse reaction to the DRUGS, the dietary supplement
could EASILY be wrongly BLAMED, which could EASILY lead to "Trial By
TV" and insurance companies charging vastly increased PREMIUMS for
supplement companies wanting to market the product which has suddenly
been very UNFAIRLY thrust into the spotlight via a media SMEAR
CAMPAIGN.

The LARGE vitamin companies which dominate the vitamin trade
associations WANT this bad legislation because it would help them
drive smaller competitors under.

If you belong to Citizens for Health, I urge you to immediately QUIT
this less than worthless shill group and put your money behind IAHF
instead. We're not interested in being "politically correct". We do
NOT take our cues from the pharma dominated vitamin trade
associations, we call attention to the LIES they're telling people
about CODEX and related matters including this, and we do this even
though they DEMONIZE IAHF and that makes it much HARDER for us to get
industry support.

We're in the corner of CONSUMERS because I AM a consumer. Dietary
supplements saved my life after mainstream medicine almost killed me
and thats why I FORMED IAHF back in '96 when I was the first to call
the Codex vitamin issue to global attention via an article in Life
Extension Magazine. We're in the corner of the small, innovative
supplement companies that never skimp on ingredients and offer the
BEST products the supplement industry has to offer because THOSE are
the companies most threatened by Codex and by bad legislation such as
this.

HOW TO HELP KILL THIS BILL:

Call Your Senators via the Capital Switchboard at 202-224-3121 and
tell them you oppose S.3546 "Dietary Supplement and Nonprescription
Drug Consumer Act," because it is a totally UNECESSARY bill. Food in
common form is FAR more dangerous than dietary supplements, yet we
don't see toll free numbers on FOOD products via which people can
call the FDA. What this is is a WITCH HUNT against safe dietary
supplements and its only supported by the vitamin trade associations
because they're dominated from the top down by pharmaceutical
interests and by the biggest companies which are trying to drive
smaller competitors out of business. When you reach Senator Hatch and
Harkins office, tell them you are DISGUSTED that they would assist a
pharma shill like DURBIN by cosponsoring this awful legislation.

IAHF NEEDS YOUR HELP TO GET TO DC AT END OF JULY TO LOBBY AGAINST
FDA's TRILATERAL COOPERATION CHARTER & AGAINST S.3546

With YOUR HELP I'm going to get to Washington DC before August recess
to lobby alongside the National Health Federation as we undertake an
action intended to dovetail with the FOIA request I filed re FDA's
Trilateral Cooperation Charter.

What we'll be doing in DC is we'll be making the rounds of the
Oversight & Investigations Subcommittee of the House Commerce
Committee to urge a joint action by several members of the
subcommittee to send letters on their letterhead to the FDA
Commissioner to DEMAND ANSWERS to our questions about the FDA's
Trilateral Cooperation Charter (which is clearly a subset of the
Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America which Jerome
Corsi has filed a FOIA request on. (See our petition at

widely, I'd like to have over 4,000 signatures by the end of the
weekend)

IAHF seeks a dialogue with Corsi, but World Net Daily has not yet put
me in touch with him. I'll continue my efforts there.
