Barbara,
It sounds like you're on the right track. I've been very toxic and
have successfully detoxed so I'll share what I know.
Milk Thistle is an excellent supplement but start out slow. Detoxing
the liver can cause you to feel worse before you feel better, but
this is true with most any type of detox. Mercury is hard on the
liver so detoxing is good so long as you feel strong enough to do it
and keep an eye on how you're feeling.
I would not be afraid to take herbs as they are excellent and very
healthy and can help with a myriad of symptoms and healing processes.
I would be afraid of drugs, not herbs.
Many people like to avoid DMPS because it is harsh, so that's
probably a good call.
I would not recommend taking ALA until all your fillings are out. It
can mobilize mercury which is good for detox but not until you're
mercury-free.
Vitamins B, C, and beta-carotene are very good. Centrum is basically
worthless in my opinion. If you have trouble sleeping, try
eliminating the B vitamins for a while and see if it changes. B-12
can lower homocysteine which can help with heart issues but it can
also facilitate the methylation of mercury enabling it to move
through cell walls. B-12 with balance.
Intestinal flora are excellent.
The most important supplement you can take if you're mercury toxic is
Algin. Here is a link that explains why:
