A child in my son's class at his Jewish Day School is allergic to nuts, peanuts,
eggs and dairy. He can eat fish. He has managed- lots of fruit, popcorn,
homemade baked goods, tofu cream cheese. He definitely eats meat at home. The
other parents in the class tried to be good about bringing in treats for
birthdays that he could eat and he kept things in the classroom to bring out for
such occasions. If it is important to you, I wouldn't rule out Jewish school
because of the allergies. School and food allergies is education, education,
education on your part. Sometimes the trail has been blazed (previous food
allergic kids) and sometimes you are the trailblazer.
Good luck-
Elizabeth
