Re: [allergicjews] Monsey: The gluten-free Jew's paradise?

you are  so lucky to have these products. To me it sounds like gold. WE have one retail bakery gluten-free in Wisconsin, but not kosher. We do have a lovely retail store that has only GF products, and many of them are kosher. So I can't complain with a loaf of bread under my are. No pun intended. Be well. Subject: [allergicjews] Monsey: The gluten-free Jew's paradise?

My subject line is only partly joking.

When I was in Mo bracha on because it contains enough oat flour. I
can't find anything online about the company (Heaven's Mills, I think)
so they must be small and local. I want to find a way to contact them
to ensure that the oat flour they use is certified gluten-free. But in
my freezer right now is a small (and not particularly tasty looking,
but that's ok) frozen challah I am going to bring down to Jersey today
to eat at Shabbos dinner and actually say bracha and bentsh with
everyone else.

Also, at Zishe's bakery in town there I found AMAZING kosher and
gluten-free rugelach, challah rolls and muffins (as well as other
goodies including kishke rolls... ew!) from another small local
company with no website. The rugelach is to die for, and they are all
reasonably priced as far as non-mass-produced GF baked goods go.
They're made by Katz's Gluten-Free in Monroe, which is run by the wife
of a guy who owns a bakery in NJ. They're made in a gluten-free
facility, and are only available at two stores in Monsey as far as I
know so far - The health food store and Zishe's.

Just thought I'd share my joy with folks who'd understand :)
