Chabad approved GF Flour?   Message List

Re: [allergicjews] Re: Chabad approved GF Flour?

My apologies - Pamela's COOKIES are OU... You're right, the mix has a
K on it. Pamela's site says it's "under kosher supervision" and their
cookies are all certified so I wonder why they didn't bother getting
an OU approval - I will e-mail and ask who supervises them. I didn't
know about Bob's! That is a real bummer - I recently made the
transition from ingredient kosher to hechsher kosher... I now only
purchase hechshered food for use at home, and I guess I forgot that I
chose to keep some non-hechshered flours to use up. Not a big deal
because I'm currently cooking kosher food in a non-kosher kitchen
(ugh)... But when I move I am going to have a much stricter kitchen,
so I guess that throws even more of my favorite products out the
window. Sadness.

Maybe we should start a letter-writing / petition campaign to get some
of our favorite brands to get reliable hechshers? I have been thinking
of doing that for a long time. Maybe when I have a chance I'll try to
put something together.

So does anyone know which of Bob's products have a real hechsher on them?

Here are some other ideas for the original poster, based on what I
just saw when I opened my cabinets:

The following Arrowhead mixes are OK certified:

Gluten Free Cake Mix
D
Gluten Free Chocolate Cake Mix
D
Gluten Free Pancake & Waffle Mix

Gluten Free Pizza Crust Mix

Authentic Foods GF flours and mixes are certified by US Kosher
Supervision (Rabbi Yehudah Bukspan) which is considered acceptable by
many, but not all:

Does anyone know what hechsher Gluten-Free Pantry has? I know many of
their products have one, but don't remember which. You can find them
at http://glutenfree.com

Cream Hill Estates / Lara's Whole Grain Oat Flour (the certified
gluten-free oat flour) is certified by Jewish Comm Council of
Montreal.

Orgran has some hechshered (not sure which) products, and I know they
make a GF flour mix:
http://www.orgran.com/company/who-is-orgran-suitable-for.html

I just did a search on the OU site and found the following:

123 Gluten Free Devinely Decadant Chipless Brownie Mix OU-D 123 Gluten
Free, Inc. Consumer
Gluten Evolution Dairy-Free Bread Mix OU Gluten Evolution Consumer
Gluten Evolution Original Bread Mix OU Gluten Evolution Consumer
Gluten Evolution Yeast/Corn Dairy-Free Bread Mix OU Gluten Evolution Consumer
Hodgson Mill Gluten Free Apple Cinnamon Muffin Mix OU Hodgson Mill,
Inc. Consumer
Hodgson Mill Gluten Free Multi Purpose Baking Mix OU Hodgson Mill,
Inc. Consumer
Maple Grove Farms Gluten Free Pancake & Waffle Mix OU-D Maple Grove
Farms of Vermont, Inc.
123 Gluten Free Aarons Favorite Dinner Roll Mix OU-D 123 Gluten Free,
Inc. Consumer
Gluten Evolution Cranberry Bread Mix OU Gluten Evolution Consumer

Gluten Evolutions' site is http://www.glutenevolution.com/index.html

And don't forget you can always use potato starch, which is available
under a million kosher labels!
