Kelly,
Like you, I just went on my first dose of 100mg last night!
previous to the 100mg, I did 2 weeks at 25mg and 2 weeks at 50mg.
First of all, you ARE having a really good week. Secondly, you are NOT alone. I have experienced ALL of the improvements you mention in your message within the first 4 weeks of treatment. I saw my doctor (psychiatrist) last night, and he basically said I will likely continue to see improvement up to the next 6 months as he increases my dosgage over time. In my case, he is not concerned about my extra energy. He does not see mine as mania, as it lasts a very short time. He thinks it is just an overall better mental feeling allowing a better physical response.
My depression totally disappeared in about a week (had been taking 100mg of Zoloft off and on (not a good thing) for
years). I still am taking the Zoloft with the Lamictal.
So, you are not alone. I know how you feel, I see it as an absolutely wonderful thing, and I can't wait to get "even better".
Hang in there!
Eric

Hi all. Recently diagnosed (Type 2) and just went to 100 mgs of
Lamictal last night. I know the side affects and that it helps with
mood swings but has anyone else noticed other positive side effects? I
mean, I feel great, almost (but only productively) manic. Better
concentration, getting things done, more focus, less procrastination
and negative thought patterns. Anyone else experiencing this??? Or I'm
I just having a really good week?!?! ;-)
I'm afraid this is just me and I'd like to have some hope at this
point.
Thanks,
Kelly
