Description

Welcome to AlcoholicsAnonymous2.

Although as a Yahoo group, we adhere to the established guidelines for online groups and thus cannot claim group status to AA within that framework, we try to uphold the spirit of the Steps and Traditions as they are stated in the AA Program.
"Our Primary Purpose is to help the alcoholic who is still suffering.”
Tradition One states "Our common welfare must come first; personal recovery depends upon AA unity "The unity of Alcoholics Anonymous is the most cherished quality our Society has. Our lives, the lives of all to come, depend squarely upon it. We stay whole or AA dies. Without unity, the heart of AA would cease to beat; our world arteries would no longer carry the life-giving grace of God; His gifts to us would be spent aimlessly. Back again in their caves, alcoholics would reproach us and say "What a great thing AA might have been!". (12x12, First Tradition) To that end we as a group hope to share experience, strength and hope with others of the Fellowship, as well as to answer any question newcomers to AA might have. Please note that just as in face-to-face, we are alcoholics at all different points in our recovery and as such, from time to time disagreement or misunderstanding may arise. When this does occur please let us each strive to set aside our differences and return instead to what we do best; "Giving back what was so freely given us" thus assuring that when anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, the hand of AA will always be there.
