Dr. Jill and others,
I am a pediatric nurse and a doula and I use to live in the Gwinnett
area. I am now in SW Florida. I have 3 grown children and 5 grand
children (most still in the Gwinnett area).
I would like my physician to have a website. To be able to email my
physician and get a response in a timely manner.
I like to have a pediatrician who not only says, it is ok with me if
you breastfeed, but also backs it up. When the going gets rough,
he/she doesn't just suggest a bottle of formula.
I would like a pediatrician who concentrates on nutrition for the
newborn, infant, toddler, child, adolescent.
I would like a pediatrician's office without formula samples or
booklets about breastfeeding from the formula companies.
I would like a pediatrician's office with a well and sick room.
I would like a pediatrician who shares call with another
pediatrician who has like policieis and views so I am not getting
conflicting information.
I would like a pediatrician who talks to my child and not just to me.
I would like a pediatrician who stays current with AAP guidelines.
I would like a pediatrician who truly obtains informed consent about
issues that affect my child.
I would like a pediatrician who teaches me about my child's upcoming
developmental milestones and what I can expect next.
I would like a pediatrician who sees their own patients in the
hospital when they are sick, who does not turn them over to the
hospitalists.
I would like a pediatrician who opens their office up to educators
in the area to use for teaching parenting classes, breastfeeding
classes, and even childbirth classes.
I would like a pediatrician who treats their nursing staff well.
