David,
I do I and R for people with disabilities, and have made a brisk use
of e-mail since the formation of my office. Many of my clients
because of disability and communication issues. E-mail allows
information to flow through a PC or other communication device, and
allows for the use of assistive technology that may be attched to the
device.
One of the drawbacks that I find is the finite nature of an e-mail
all you have is what is written, and you have no ability to ask
questions or use any "active" technique. Frequently, I find myself
giving "broad" answers (if your circumstance...is this then if this
then..), and most times there needs to be a follow-up e-mail.
Sharon...this does sound like a great workshop hummmmmmm.
